Juried Gallery
Below are selected pieces that have appeared in juried exhibitions. Shipping and packaging is not included in the price. If you live in the San Diego area I am happy to deliver for free.
Anticipation
Pen and Watercolor on Arches paper. The black line was printed onto watercolor paper on a flatbed press and then watercolor was added.

This was created for the SDMA Centennial and I was chosen as one of three Centennial Honorees for the Local Visions exhibit in Gallery 6.
I drew the facade in pen, on location. While I was drawing I noticed a very diverse group of people were starting to gather waiting for the museum to open, so I added them to the drawing. If you look closely at the people, you will see some influences from famous artists in the way they dress or the way they wear their hair (i.e., Vincent Van Gogh, Yayoi Kusama, Frida Kahlo, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mark Rothko, Paul Klee, Marimekko).

"Mama I Can’t Breath," Created after George Floyd’s murder. 20"x25" watercolor.
I see generations of African American mothers that worry about their vulnerable, innocent kids. I see George Floyd, as he leaves us, holding the hand of his young daughter that may be another generation of mother. In this painting they are at the beach, a place where I have always felt safe. They should feel safe. But the sky is grey and they are not safe yet.
