Pen and Watercolor on Arches paper. The black line was printed onto watercolor paper on a flatbed press and then watercolor was added.

This was created for the SDMA Centennial and I was chosen as one of three Centennial Honorees for the Local Visions exhibit in Gallery 6.
I drew the facade in pen, on location. While I was drawing I noticed a very diverse group of people were starting to gather waiting for the museum to open, so I added them to the drawing. If you look closely at the people, you will see some influences from famous artists in the way they dress or the way they wear their hair (i.e., Vincent Van Gogh, Yayoi Kusama, Frida Kahlo, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mark Rothko, Paul Klee, Marimekko).
